Cavanaughs To Offer High-Speed Internet Access In All Company Owned Hotels SPOKANE, WA – Cavanaughs Hospitality Corporation (NYSE:CVH), a lodging, entertainment and real estate services company, announced today an agreement with Darwin Networks to install high-speed Internet access using DSL technology in Cavanaughs Hotel guestrooms and meeting rooms. Cavanaughs expects to complete installations in seven hotels by the end of 1999 with the remainder to be completed by March 2000. Utilization of existing phone lines will allow for rapid installations without disruption to hotel operations.

The high-speed Internet access provided by Darwin Networks will enable guests to browse the Internet at up to 50 times the speed of a conventional modem, while simultaneously using the telephone. “Business and leisure travelers alike are using the Internet more frequently while away from the office or home,” said David M. Barbieri, Chief Information Officer, Cavanaughs Hospitality Corporation. “Many people have come to depend on the Internet to stay connected. As this trend continues to perpetuate, people are starting to take this amenity into consideration when choosing a hotel. Darwin Networks has created a wonderful solution that is easy to use with your own laptop and adds another element of customer service that makes Cavanaughs the ‘user friendly’ hotel choice.”

“We are pleased to be partnering with Cavanaughs to provide Internet services,” said David Wigglesworth, President of Darwin’s Hospitality division. “The decision by Cavanaughs to take this forward thinking step to provide in-room high speed Internet services will clearly position them as a leader in the markets they serve”.

High speed Internet service will be billed to the customer at a nominal charge for a 24-hour period. Guests can use their own laptop and a help desk will be available to provide support. A simulation of the difference between standard modem speed and that provided by Darwin can be viewed on the Internet at www.darwin.net.
